So I finally was able to figure out my Family Tree Maker software. Somehow the software was keyed to my family tree website and because I had to re-load Family Tree Maker - it lost all that information. After a quick call to genealogy.com I was able to make the necessary changes. I'm finally able to send updates directly to the family tree site. So what does this mean?... I need the family to take a look at the site and see if any modifications or additions are needed. If you see anything you want to share with me so I can post the information, contact mdreyes23@hotmail.com

Tarpon Springs is located about 30 miles away from my place in Tampa. I've always wanted to go there. It's the closest I'll ever get (for now)... to being in Greece. There's a whole history behind Tarpon Springs... mostly about the sponge industry in the early 1900s. Greeks from the Dodecanese Islands were recruited to help in the industry as sponge divers. You can find more information about Tarpon Springs at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarpon_Springs,_Florida

It's a large Greek community that has now been turned into mostly tourist attractions. My girlfriend Jill and I rode our motorcycles there this past weekend and stayed at a cute little Bed and Breakfast place that was walking distance to the Sponge Docks (where most of the shops, restaurants, and museums are located). We had an amazing time. If you ever go out there - we highly recommend the B&B we stayed at. We stayed at the Spring Bayou Inn (http://www.springbayouinn.com/) in the Hybiscus Room. The owners of the B&B - Sherri and Bill are amazing, very nice and cooked some amazing food. We hope to go back there sometime in the future with Jill's dog, as that room allows pets. -Danny

Mom came to visit me in Tampa this past MLK weekend and we had such a blast. When she arrived I took her to the house to rest up and then we immediately drove to Miami to visit ate Ochie and her husband Steven. We spent Thursday and Friday morning with the both of them and got to see their cute little condo. Ate Ochie is starting to show and is about 6 months in to her pregnancy. She's glowing so much right now. Friday morning we then took ate Ochie and drove north to Titusville where we met up with ate Monica and family. We were surprised at how much the kids have grown. Ate Monica took us shopping and then took us all out to dinner for my Mom's birthday. On Sunday we made a quick stop at kuya Raymond's place and chatted with the family for a bit. I haven't seen kuya Raymond and family in so long, it was so nice to catch up on things. They have such a beautiful family. Afterwards, mom and I drove back to Tampa and realized that it's only about 2 hours away. So more visits to come I hope. In Tampa I showed mom my new 'hood'. We ate lunch at Channelside (the tampa bay port) where a lot of the cruise ships leave from. I also showed my mom where I work at on Macdill AFB but had to blind-fold her so she couldn't remember how we got there (j/k). We were able to shop at the Commissary and Exchange and ended up buying tons of stuff. That evening mom cooked some amazing food for Tom (my roommate), his girlfriend Kim, and myself. It was sooo delicious. Thanks Mom! Anyway, hope you guys enjoy this album. Happy Birthday Mom! -Danny

Happy Holidays Everyone! This year the family spent Christmas in New York with Rich, Karen, Ben, and Chelsea. Yvette and Norman's family were also down from Canada and spent Christmas Eve with us. The kids opened some of their gifts Christmas eve as their grandpa was leaving for the weekend. We all enjoyed watching the kids open their gifts! Hope everyone is doing well this holiday season! -Danny

Another very random album from Tampa. Tom and I always see weird wildlife around our house and always end up taking pictures. Here's pictures from a tree frog we saw hanging around above our garage. I wanted to post these cause my friend Suzy from Puerto Rico had a similar sighting right about the same time as us... freaky! -Danny

Here's pictures from Thanksgiving weekend in New York. I was so sad that I couldn't make it as I had to work that weekend. The Gruenberg family came over to enjoy great food and have fun with the family and kids. I love the Chelsea modeling pictures :) She's soo cute. -Danny

I have to work Thursday and through the weekend, so my roommate Tom and I decided to host a small Pre-Thanksgiving dinner party on Wednesday at the house. We invited a couple of friends and split out food duty. The food turned out great and we had such a good time. Here's a list of all the food we had:

  • Potato Casserole - Kelly
  • Salad - Kim
  • Green Bean Casserole - Kim
  • Turkey - Marcus
  • Fried Sweet Potatoes - Marcus
  • Mashed Potatoes - Mike
  • Rolls - Mike
  • Stuffing - Tom
  • Gravy - Tom
  • Beer / Liquor - Tom
  • Cranberry Sauce - Tom
  • Pie - Lauren
  • Wine - Mike, Marcus

Er, I was supposed to be on Mashed Potatoes duty... but Kelly bailed me out and finished them for me :) Been awhile since I had Thanksgiving without my family... miss you guys! Hope you all are having a wonderful Thanksgiving and I'll see you all soon! -Danny

After well over a month since I got my motorcycle license, I finally got my first motorcycle. Toms girlfriend's Dad got it for me at an auction and sold it to me for pretty cheap and it only had 160 miles on it. It's a 2004 Suzuki SV650s. I had to pick it up about 20 miles away and drive it home at night and in pretty chilly weather (for Tampa anyway). Pretty wild for my first joy ride!

I added more pictures to this album on Christmas 2005. My roommate Tom took it out for a joy ride on one of his days off and took a lot of pictures of areas around Tampa.
